Enhancing Water Efficiency and Plant Health with Vortex Technology
NewGround sets out what vortex technology does in an irrigation system: water use cut by up to 30 to 40%, better water absorption and soil structure, less friction loss and pressure loss in the pipework, fewer iron and calcium deposits, shorter run times, and no electricity or ongoing maintenance over a life it puts at more than 30 years. Two Western Australian installs follow. At Gwynne Park, City of Armadale (installed December 2023, on a 35-year-old system without head-to-head coverage), the article says the irrigation schedule fell from seven days a week to four with a 5% reduction in water use on those days, and the scheduled fertiliser application was not needed. At Curtin University Midland (installed November 2024, watering limited to two days a week), it reports turf and garden health improved significantly with no site changes beyond mowing. It closes on the Bunbury-made unit.
